Everton have made a surprise move for West Ham United forward Enner Valencia as they look to beat Swansea to his signature, sources close to the club have told ESPN FC.
Swansea had been leading the chase for Valencia with West Ham willing to let the Ecuadorian international leave London Stadium before the close of the window.
However, Everton have now enterted the race for Valencia and they offered to pay West Ham a loan fee for the striker.
Everton boss Ronald Koeman is working hard to strengthen his squad before the close of the transfer window and he sees Valencia as someone who will provide cover and competition for Romelu Lukaku.
