Everton are hopeful of finally concluding a deal for Swansea City's Gylfi Sigurdsson after making an offer worth £45million.
Talks were ongoing on Monday night with the Iceland international keen to sign for the big-spending Goodison Park club.
Everton also retain hope that Olivier Giroud still wants to join them despite Arsene Wenger saying the France international wants to stay and fight for his place.
Everton play Ruzomberok in the Europa League qualifier on Thursday and hope to have Sigurdsson signed by then.
