Confirmed: Swansea City appoint club stalwart Leon Britton as caretaker manager

Swansea City have confirmed the appointment of Leon Britton as the club’s new caretaker manager.

The Swans stalwart – who first joined the Welsh side in 2003 – will take temporary charge of the first-team while the Premier League side continues its search for a new permanent boss.

Paul Clement was sacked as manager on Wednesday following a dreadful run of results which has left the club rock-bottom of the top flight table.

Swansea have lost all but two of their last ten league games and have registered just 12 points from their opening 18 fixtures, leaving them four points from safety.
