Alun Wyn Jones bid what could well be farewell to rugby on a glorious sunny Swansea evening.
It is a significant understatement to say Welsh rugby has had its fair share of troubles this season but it laid on a show which showed just what it can offer at St Helen’s to honour a true great. Jones, 37 and the world’s most capped international, has now retired from international rugby and it remains unclear whether or not he will continue to play at club level next season.
If this was the iconic lock forward’s last game, it could not have been more fitting.
