Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele is set to make his first Premier League appearance of the season on Sunday after completing a domestic suspension.
Left-back Danny Rose remains out because of a hamstring injury.
Sunderland pair Lee Cattermole and Steven Pienaar are back in training after injuries and could be involved.
Billy Jones and Victor Anichebe are not yet fit enough to return, while Fabio Borini, Sebastian Larsson and Vito Mannone are long-term absentees.
