Sunderland defender Papy Djilobodji has been banned for four matches after being found guilty of violent conduct, the Football Association has announced.
In a statement, English football's governing body said: "Papy Djilobodji will serve a four-match suspension with immediate effect after his violent conduct charge was found proven."
Earlier this week, Press Association Sport reported that Djilobodji had denied the charge and would plead his case before an independent regulatory commission hearing.
It related to an incident involving West Bromwich Albion skipper Darren Fletcher during Sunderland's Premier League defeat at the Hawthorns on Saturday.
