Sunderland midfielder Didier Ndong has been sent home from international duty, after he failed to turn up to Gabon training.
The 22-year-old was due to join up with the squad on Tuesday, but on Wednesday the Gabon Football Federation claimed he had not reported for duty, nor informed them of any problems.
That is despite the federation's claims that Sunderland's record signing was in fact in the Gabonese captain of Libreville from Monday.
Ndong, who has 18 caps for his country and should be set to play a major role in their attempt to challenge for a first Africa Cup of Nations title when they host the tournament in January, was due to play in a World Cup qualifier away in Mali on Saturday before a friendly against Comoros three days later.
