Sebastian Coates has left Sunderland after agreeing a permanent switch to Sporting Lisbon.
Uruguayan defender Coates has been on loan in Portugal for more than a year and Lisbon have decided to take advantage of their option to make the deal a permanent one.
Coates, 26, made 32 appearances for Sunderland in his two spells spread over three years.
He initially joined the Wearsiders on a season-long loan in September 2014 from Liverpool, for who he signed for £6.
