Sunderland ran out of gas in second half of crucial loss to Leicester

This is a modal window.

David Moyes has little positives to take away against Leicester, citing numerous errors in the box leading to their demise.

Sunderland's frailties were again exposed when a determined start against Leicester City petered out to allow the reigning Premier League champions a comfortable 2-0 win on Tuesday.

David Moyes' side, in bottom place and already a near-certainty for relegation, played well for an hour, without once threatening Kasper Schmeichel's goal, before a characteristic collapse.

Only after Islam Slimani gave Leicester the lead did Sunderland get close to scoring. Victor Anichebe, back from injury, saw a shot deflected onto the post and Jermain Defoe struck the rebound into the side netting.
