Sunderland legend Charlie Hurley has died at the age of 87.
The defender was named the club's player of the century in 1979 and made a total of 401 appearances for the Wearsiders between 1957 and 1969.
He also won 40 caps for Republic of Ireland and later went on to manage Reading.
"Charlie adored Sunderland and Sunderland will always adore him," the club said in a statement.
