Former Sunderland head coach Lee Johnson hopes Sunderland can keep up the positive and powerful momentum generated by their start to the season.
The Black Cats have won five of their six Championship games under Frenchman Regis Le Bris to sit second behind leaders West Bromwich Albion ahead of Saturday's trip to Watford.
Johnson was in charge of Sunderland from December 2020 to February 2022 when the club was in League One.
"The thing you know about Sunderland is when you get momentum, it's really, really powerful," he said.
"If you get a negative shift of momentum, that can be difficult to get over but while it's all going well, it's a powerful beast.
