Sunderland want to take Everton defenders Tyias Browning and Brendan Galloway on loan this summer.
Manager Simon Grayson also hopes to conclude a deal to sign out-of-favour Aiden McGeady from the Toffees this week.
Irish winger McGeady signed for the Goodison Park club back in 2014 in transfer from Spartak Moscow, but has since fallen down the pecking order.
A series of loan moves in recent years have seen McGeady gather playing time elsewhere, turning out for Sheffield Wednesday and Preston North End.
