Sunderland closing in on £1.5m deal for Jobe Bellingham after Birmingham sacrifice £2.5m asking price for add-ons and a sell-on percentage in the deal

Sunderland are close to agreeing a fee of around £1.5million plus add ons for Birmingham City midfielder Jobe Bellingham.

As revealed by Mail Sport, Tony Mowbray's promotion contenders have been courting the 17-year old for the past year but firmed up their interest in April.

Jobe, younger brother of England and future Real Madrid star Jude, attended Sunderland's play off semi final with Luton Town as talks developed.

Birmingham had been hoping for around £2.5m but it is understood the final fee will include add-ons and a sell-on percentage.
