Sunderland become the first Premier League club to try out the mannequin challenge sweeping the internet

Sunderland have been accused of static defending this season after David Moyes' side took 11 games to record a league victory, but appearing lifeless was precisely the point after several players took up the Mannequin Challenge.

Despite propping up the Premier League with five points so far this term, the players clearly are in high spirits following the 2-1 comeback victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

The Black Cats became the first Premier League club to take up the mannequin challenge sweeping the internet, following Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in attempting to hold a pose.

While Dortmund used weights at the club's gym to stay completely still to film an intricate scene, several Sunderland players opted to work on their core strength as they appeared frozen in time.
