Sunderland have confirmed the appointment of Lee Johnson as their new manager.

The former Bristol City boss has penned an initial two-and-a-half year deal at the Stadium of Light following Phil Parkinson's sacking.

Johnson will take charge of the League One club's fixture against Wigan today in his first game in charge.
