As we land in the ghastly January window listening to journalists, or in Sky’s case influencers, howling about how much is being spent and by whom, it’s ironic that in the same breath the narrative turns to who is next to be sanctioned as a result of the demanded, nay expected, profligacy.

Whether or not they are punished - and I don’t think they will be - the prospect of another club facing possible sanctions for breaching FFP is met with the usual wails about the unfairness of the rules.
