Sunderland have signed winger Romaine Mundle from Belgian top-flight club Standard Liege on a four-and-a-half year deal, for an undisclosed fee.
The 20-year-old Londoner left Tottenham to join Liege last summer and has scored twice in 11 games this season.
Mundle never made a senior appearance during his time at Spurs, where he spent 15 years in total, but was a regular in the Premier League 2 squad.
He could make his debut against local rivals Middlesbrough on Sunday.
"Talented players like Romaine are highly sought after and we saw this firsthand in the summer when he left Tottenham Hotspur," sporting director Kristjaan Speakman told the club website.
