A murder investigation has been launched after a 36-year-old woman was found dead inside her home in Sunderland.
Melissa Eastick was found dead at a home on Stockton Terrace with injuries consistent with an assault.
After the ambulance service arrived at the scene, shortly after 7.15am on Tuesday morning, police offices were called.
Officers launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding Melissa's death, with Northumbria Police confirming that they are treating it as a suspected murder.
Two men, aged 38 and 40, were arrested on suspicion of murder and have since been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.
