Liverpool defender Tony Gallacher's proposed move to Sunderland has fallen through after the League One club pulled out of the deal.
Liverpool were prepared to cut short the 22-year-old left back's contract allowing him to join on a free but with a sell-on clause inserted into the transfer arrangement.
Sunderland manager Lee Johnson was keen to bring in former Scotland Under 19 international Gallacher and confirmed he was one of a number of options the club were looking at as young left back Denver Hume is injured and has yet to sign a new contract.
