Dick Advocaat says Sunderland's struggles are down to a lack of investment by owner Ellis Short.

The Black Cats have become perennial relegation strugglers in recent years and are again facing a huge battle to beat the drop this season.

They have yet to win in ten Premier League games this season and are eight points adrift of safety ahead of this weekend's trip to Bournemouth.

David Moyes, appointed as their latest boss in the summer, is already under pressure, with some reports suggesting he could be axed if he fails to engineer a win over the Cherries.
