Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris says he has "regret" about assistant head coach Mike Dodds leaving the club.
Dodds is taking the top job at Wycombe Wanderers, having stayed for the Black Cats' win at Middlesbrough on Monday night.
The 38-year-old was in interim charge of Sunderland three times for a total of 18 games, but is now the permanent number one at Adams Park.
Le Bris said he was thankful for how Dodds helped him to settle when he first arrived in England last summer.
"Mike was really important for me," said Le Bris.
