John O'Shea expertly marshalls Sunderland's stubborn fight vs. Reds

Sunderland slid back to the bottom of the Premier League table, losing 2-0 at title-chasing Liverpool on Saturday as Jurgen Klopp's side produced enough quality to break down a stubborn resistance expertly marshalled by veteran defender John O'Shea.

After successive wins at Bournemouth and at home to Hull City, Sunderland manager David Moyes got the disciplined defending he needed to have any hope of taking a point from Anfield. But with Liverpool enjoying nearly 80 percent possession, it came as little surprise when Divock Origi broke the resistance in the 75th minute, producing a moment of high skill by turning Duncan Watmore on the left before firing past Jordan Pickford from a narrow angle.
