Brendan Galloway has become new Sunderland manager Simon Grayson's first signing after completing a season-long loan move from Everton, the Championship club has confirmed.
The Zimbabwe-born 21-year-old, who can play at either centre-half or left-back, headed for Wearside on Tuesday for a medical.
The Black Cats are looking to bolster a squad which has been significantly reduced following the departures of Jordan Pickford, Jermain Defoe and a series of out-of-contract and loan players.
