Defender Pascal Struijk was Leeds United’s unlikely hero as he scored two late headers off the bench to fire his side back to the summit.
Daniel Farke’s men looked set to slip to their first defeat at Elland Road since September when Wilson Isidor’s precise first-half strike put Sunderland ahead.
Yet Struijk – who missed a penalty in his last match here – proved to be the Whites’ supersub, equalising with 12 minutes to go and nodding in a dramatic winner in the fifth minute of added time to send Elland Road wild.
