Sunderland's Duncan Watmore reportedly helped rescue three elderly passengers from the sea after a catamaran crashed into a speedboat while the 23-year-old was aboard, per David Coverdale for the Sun.
"It was scary, life or death. I'm lucky not to be coming back in a box," said one of the three rescued by the Sunderland player, who is currently sidelined with a knee injury. "Duncan helped everybody to get on to the boat—he couldn't have been nicer."
Sunderland boss David Moyes gave the green light for Watmore to travel to Barbados last month, per Coverdale, following cruciate knee ligament damage sustained during their 2-1 win over Leicester City on Dec.
