A touch of class from Brandon Thomas-Asante helped West Bromwich Albion bounce up five places and into the play-off spots with a 2-0 victory at Blackpool.
Carlos Corberan’s side lay 11th before kick-off but Thomas-Asante’s clever back-heeled finish gave the Baggies an 18th-minute lead at Bloomfield Road. Taylor Gardner-Hickman then tapped in on the hour to leave Blackpool four points adrift of safety.
Sunderland's play-off charge was dented as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Huddersfield. Joe Gelhardt, on loan from Leeds, fired the Black Cats in front from distance but Josh Koroma’s solo special earned a point for Neil Warnock’s Terriers.
