Sunderland must bring in a manager and players who understand what it means to represent such a 'massive club', Anton Ferdinand has told talkSPORT.
The Black Cats will spend the 2017/18 season in the Championship after a disastrous year under David Moyes, who quit as boss on Monday.
Ferdinand hopes they will bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt but insists, if they are to stand a chance of doing so, they must replace Moyes and many of their squad members with people who have a real passion for the club.
