Sunderland's crop of young players are capable of stepping up amid the absence of several injured first-teamers, says striker Victor Anichebe.
The Black Cats have lost defender Jason Denayer to injury, to add to Jan Kirchhoff, Lee Cattermole, Adnan Januzaj and Fabio Borini.
Boss David Moyes has brought reserve-team players such as Ethan Robson and George Honeyman to training sessions.
"They can definitely do a job," Anichebe told BBC Newcastle.
"They were so sharp, and if any of them need to be called upon they can come in and do the job.
