PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. – The first day of the 2021 Sun Belt Women's Tennis Championship featured two upset victories as 5E Troy and 5W Texas State advance to the quarterfinals on Friday, April 16, along with 3W ULM.
In the opening match, the Trojans took an early advantage with doubles victories on courts two and three to grab a 1-0 lead. Troy won contests on courts three, four, and six in singles' competition to advance to the quarterfinals to play No. 1 seed South Alabama.
ULM earned singles victories on courts one, three, and four and one doubles point to secure its 4-1 win over Georgia State.
