Avery Grimes, UTA (Sr., 2B, Keller, Texas)
UTA senior second base Avery Grimes came up with big hits over the opening weekend as the Mavericks won the Aggie Classic in College Station, Texas. Grimes was the biggest catalyst in UTA's Feb. 8 win over Texas A&M, going 3-for-4 and driving in four runs in the 5-4 come-from-behind victory over the host Aggies. She plated the first Maverick run with an RBI single in the fourth inning and then tied the game in the sixth with a two-RBI double to left center.
