The season did not get off to a great start for the American Athletic Conference. Several of the league’s member schools either lost big to non-conference opponents, or even lost to FCS teams. Highlights of the weekend did include a comeback win for UCF and a blowout victory for SMU. But then, there’s the whole conversation surrounding Big 12 departures. Oh boy.
