Troy’s Brooks and Anderson & UTA’s Wells Named Sun Belt Volleyball Players of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – Troy’s Julia Brooks and Amara Anderson, and UTA’s Alli Wells earned Sun Belt Conference Volleyball Player of the Week accolades after standout performances against non-conference competition this past week.

Trojans’ sophomore middle hitter Julia Brooks led her team in all three offensive categories at the Crimson Tide Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Ala. In 13 sets played, Brooks totaled 48 kills, recorded 51.5 points and charted a hitting percentage of .419. In Troy’s first win against Alabama since 1974 and its first against an SEC team in 25 years, Brooks led all scorers with 18.
