LAFAYETTE, La. - Matt Sanders, Joey Denison and Brandon Lockridge each drove in three runs as Troy eliminated Texas State, 10-0, in seven innings on Saturday at the Sun Belt baseball tournament to advance to Sunday's championship.
Troy (41-18) will be making its first appearance in the championship game since 2010 and will be looking for its first tournament title since 2006. Texas State's season comes to a close at 30-28-1.
Troy's Denison entered the game with 71 RBI, two short of tying the Trojans all-time program record. With one swing of the bat that record fell.
