NEW ORLEANS – Three Sun Belt student-athletes were among the 167 players invited to the inaugural MLB Draft Combine from June 22-26.
The Combine is taking place at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C., and the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, N.C., and features 76 collegiate student-athletes and 91 high school players.
Outfielder Parker Chavers, an All-Sun Belt Second Team honoree, hit .318 with 12 doubles, two triples and five home runs as a redshirt junior at Coastal Carolina. The native of Montgomery, Ala., tallied 32 runs scored and 33 RBIs in 49 games played.
