The Iron Skillet is one of the longest rivalries in Texas college football history, with the first game being played pre-World War I. Officially, TCU leads the all-time series 49-40-7. Much debate has been made over when the rivalry started, but there is no arguing about the intensity of this rivalry.

3. November 30, 1935- SMU 20- TCU 14: A trip to the “Granddaddy of them all” was on the line, as the teams were not only playing for the SWC championship, but a trip to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA.
