BOONE, N.C. – The Texas State softball team took game one of the series against Appalachian State Friday evening by a score of 12-0 in five innings. The Bobcats took the lead early in the first inning and never looked back. With the win, the Bobcats improved to 31-18 overall and 10-9 in Sun Belt Conference play.
Texas State scattered 12 hits from nine different players to score runs in every inning but the second. Four of the Texas State hits were home runs and two additional hits were off of the centerfield fence.
Randi Rupp earned her 23rd victory of the season after pitching a complete game shutout while allowing just one hit in the top of the second inning.
