2018-19 NCAA Helper Helper Report
NEW ORLEANS – Sun Belt Conference athletics departments placed among the best in NCAA Division I in community service hours logged during the 2018-19 academic year.
According to data collected via the Helper Helper platform, three Sun Belt programs finished in the top 15 nationally with Appalachian State ranked sixth, Georgia Southern ranked 12th and Louisiana ranked 15th. The Mountaineers led the conference by completing a school record of approximately 10,500 hours of community service.
Among Sun Belt-sponsored sports, conference schools boasted three first-place finishes – Louisiana in women's tennis, ULM in softball and Georgia Southern in football.
