NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt announced its men's basketball player of the week on Monday.
Cedric Russell, Louisiana (#0, Sr, G - Alexandria, La.)
Russell led the way as Louisiana won its fifth straight game moving into first place in the SBC West Division with a pair of close victories at Texas State. The senior guard averaged 22.5 points and 4 rebounds in the two-game series. Russell scored 21 points with three 3-pointers in a 62-60 win then capped off the week scoring 24 points - highlighted by a season-high six 3-pointers - in a 74-73 thriller.
