NEW ORLEANS – With four weekends remaining in the season, the top-half of the standings are volatile as the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Softball Championship nears.
Current front-runner and 14th-ranked Louisiana (32-6, 14-1 SBC) is on a 14-game winning streak. They recently handed Troy (26-9, 10-3) their first loss in league action. The Trojans had not lost a game since March 10.
Texas State (26-6, 8-3), hovering around the Top 25 in the major polls, is third in the conference standings and will face the Ragin’ Cajuns this weekend. The Bobcats also have a critical road series against the Trojans beginning April 30.
