Homecoming in Jonesboro was celebrated with the Red Wolves eventually pulling away from the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers 51-17, raising their record on the season to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in Sun Belt play. The ASU defense had braced itself all week for the Chants’ option game but found itself on the wrong end of a 55 yard dash from scrimmage on CCU’’s first play from scrimmage. Fortunately for ASU the Chants would miss a 25 yard FG and allow momentum to swing back to the home team after an 80 yard ASU drive and the first of 5 TD passes by QB Justice Hansen on the night.
