Old Dominion and UTSA opened C-USA competition with what was one of the sloppiest games of the year thus far.
Both teams struggled on offense and defense alike, with a particular emphasis on poor special teams play.
UTSA started the game with three consecutive three and outs as starting quarterback Dalton Sturm went 0 for 4 and got sacked twice. He would finish the day 8 for 17 with 103 yards and an interception, getting benched in the third quarter for second-string graduate transfer Jared Johnson.
UTSA’s best quarterback was wide receiver Brady Jones, who threw a reverse pass to Johnson in the third quarter for an 8-yard touchdown.
