ATLANTA – Fifth-seeded UTA made quick work of eighth-seeded Troy with a 3-0 sweep (25-23, 25-17, 25-23) to close out the first day’s matches at the 2018 Sun Belt Conference Volleyball Championship.
The Mavericks move on to take on No. 4 seed Little Rock on Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET at the GSU Sports Arena.
Freshman outside hitter Brooke Townsend led UTA with 12 kills. Junior middle blocker/outside hitter Madison Hill finished with 11 kills, three digs and a match-high four blocks, while redshirt senior middle blocker Zhanelle Geathers registered 10 kills and a pair of blocks.
