Louisiana senior forward JaKeenan Gant averaged 29.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 2.5 steals, keeping up his torrid start to Sun Belt play and helping the Ragin’ Cajuns earn a split during their two-game trip to his home state. For the week, Gant went 23-for-38 (60.5 percent) from the floor, 4-for-8 from behind the three-point line and 8-for-8 from the free throw line. He posted double-doubles in both contests to extend his season total to six and his active streak to three. Gant opened the week at Georgia State with a 36-point, 11-rebound contest, going 14-for-21 from the floor, 2-for-4 from long range and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
