Little Rock Bests Arkansas State on PKs, 4-3

FOLEY, Ala. - Second-seeded Little Rock advanced to the semifinal round after battling No. 7 Arkansas State to a 1-1 draw after two overtime periods and then prevailing in the penalty shootout, 4-3. Sara Johannsdottir made two clutch saves in the shootout to send Little Rock to the semifinals of the Sun Belt tournament for the second consecutive season.

The Trojans (12-4-3) struggled to find a rhythm in the first half as they were forced to play against the gusting winds at the field. Little Rock nearly scored, in the 12th minute when Morgan Smocovich delivered a dangerous ball from just outside the penalty area.
