KNOXVILLE – Georgia State scored a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns and outrushed Tennessee 213-93 to shock the Volunteers 38-30 on Saturday afternoon at Neyland Stadium.
Georgia State, celebrating just its 10th season of football, knocked off its first SEC opponent and Power 5 opponent by outscoring Tennessee 24-13 in the second half.
“First of all, I will go ahead and say how proud I am of our university and our football program to come in here and do something probably only 108 or 109 players we have on our roster believed we could do,” head coach Shawn Elliott said.
