PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. – The three women’s first-round matches at the 2018 Sun Belt Tennis Championships saw Georgia Southern, ULM and Appalachian State advance to Friday’s quarterfinals.
The ninth-seeded Eagles kicked off the day with a 4-2 win over eighth-seeded Louisiana. A couple of 4-1 decisions followed with the seventh-seeded Mountaineers dropping 10th-seeded Texas State and the sixth-seeded Warhawks pulling off a tough triumph over 11th-seeded Arkansas State.
Georgia Southern rebounded from losing the doubles point to get singles victories at the No. 1, 2, 4 and 6 spots, while ULM and Appalachian State each won the doubles point and needed three singles wins to secure victories.
