Houston got some great news today, as former Ole Miss Deontay Anderson announced he would be transferring to become a Cougar. Anderson is from Manvel, Texas, just 30 minutes south of Houston, and will link up with former teammate and current Cougars quarterback D’Eriq King.
Anderson was a former four star recruit according to 247Sports, and the second best safety in the class of 2016. He was the eighth best recruit out of the state of Texas and 52nd overall recruit in his class.
Ole Miss allowed players like Anderson to transfer without penalty, and it came as somewhat of a surprise that he chose to come back home.
