Blake Anderson’s Arkansas State Red Wolves used an attacking defense, big pass plays, and opportunistic special teams to beat the UCF Knights in the 2016 Cure Bowl 31-13. This was a game dominated thoroughly by defenses and marred by penalty flags but ASU found a way to create enough offense that it would give the game its MVP. ASU snapped a two game bowl losing streak and beat an AAC opponent that it was a touchdown underdog against by 18.
WHO’S AFRAID OF THE BIG BAD D?
Both teams came into the game honest about how important the role their defense’s would play in it but its hard to imagine anyone seeing this coming.
