Coastal Powers Past South Alabama to Advance to Saturday's Semifinals

LAFAYETTE, La. - Zach Biermann drove in five runs and Seth Lancaster and Kevin Woodall hit back-to-back home runs to lead Coastal Carolina to a 16-4 victory over South Alabama on Thursday at the Sun Belt baseball tournament at Russo Park in Lafayette, La.

The Chanticleers (40-17) advance to Saturday's semifinals with the win and will face the winner of Friday's first elimination game between No. 4 South Alabama and No. 5 Georgia Southern.

Coastal Carolina hit three home runs on Thursday and has six total in two games in the tournament. Adding 16 runs to its previously scored 12 gives the Chanticleers 28 for the tournament.
