RALEIGH, N.C. – Coastal Carolina pulled off another upset in the NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Championship as redshirt junior midfielder Tyrone Mondi knocked home the golden goal in the 104th minute of the second overtime to give the Chanticleers a 3-2 victory over North Carolina State.
Coastal Carolina moves on to face No. 8 seed SMU on Sunday, Nov. 24 at 1 p.m. CT in Dallas.
Mondi stole the show, literally, stealing the ball from a Wolfpack player and going on the attack to score the game-winner with just over six minutes remaining before the match would have went into penalty kicks.
